We recognize that facilitators volunteer their time and bring diverse experience, skills, and perspectives to this role. These resources are intended to support you, not add burden or complexity.
This page will continue to evolve as SMART Recovery Canada completes its transition to Canadian-led operations.

To register a new SMART Recovery meeting, please use the form linked below. Please note that both public and private meetings need to be registered.

As a registered facilitator of a SMART Recovery meeting, you can use our self-service meeting change option to make basic changes such as the day, time, and cancelation notices. When using this option, changes take effect as soon as you verify the change.

If you need to change anything to your meeting that is not available on the self-service meeting change, please email volunteer@smartrecovery-canada.ca with your meeting ID number and the changes you need made and we will be happy to assist.

The Facilitators’ Toolbox is a collection of SMART Recovery tools, strategies, and exercises drawn from the SMART Recovery Handbook. These tools are commonly used in SMART Recovery meetings to support participants in building motivation, managing urges, working with thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and creating a more balanced life.
Each tool includes guidance on how it may be introduced in a meeting setting and how participants can use it between meetings.
